a note from our founder
Hi everyone, I’m Naomi. I’m an entrepreneur, a real food lover, a backyard gardener and first-time Mom. I founded Picnik because I’m super passionate about making revolutionary, one-of-a-kind products that enhance a healthy lifestyle. Eating well doesn’t have to mean sacrificing fun or flavor. At Picnik, we believe in crafting better-for-you products that taste amazing with the cleanest ingredients. Oh, and I’m all about convenience, too! I’m a Mom, I get it... We are all just too busy. I also think it's important that we don’t take ourselves too seriously. For me, life is all about balance. I love kale, but also tacos. Fun, flavor and function are all of equal importance to me. I’m here for a good time, not a long time, so I want to feel my best while I’m here so I can live my best life. That is my wish for you, too. In everything you do, have fun, give it your all and make it count.
our history
Naomi Seifter (Picnik | Founder) opened our first Picnik location in Austin, TX in 2013 out of a 150 sq. ft. food trailer. Her mission was to create a restaurant that showed her guests that eating better-for-you foods can be a fun, exciting and flavorful experience. She was motivated to open Picnik because accessibility to readily available gluten-free options was nearly impossible to come by and she wanted to “shift the paradigm of food everywhere.” Her menu was focused on better-for-you comfort foods, paleo-inspired recipes and her specialty butter coffee menu. Due to the positive response of the local community, she opened her first restaurant location in 2016 as a farm-to-table, all-day diner concept with offerings for breakfast, lunch and dinner (more here). As Picnik gained more traction, Naomi converted some of her best selling recipes into products that could reach people all across the US. In 2018, Picnik launched a line of functional creamers that are now sold nationwide in stores like Whole Foods Market + Sprouts (more here).
